The Shelter Island Country Club, known affectionately as “Goat Hill,” is a historic, 9-hole public golf course. Established in 1901 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the course covers 2,512 yards of widely varying, hilly terrain.
The Club is situated on one the highest points on the island with scenic views of surrounding bays and harbors. Amenities include a pro shop, driving range, golf carts, pull carts, and clubs for rent. A PGA professional is onsite, and lessons are available.
Membership rates start at $546, making SICC one of the most affordable golf clubs in the Long Island region. A summer junior golf program offers instruction for kids ages 7 to 16 from late June through late July.
The Flying Goat Restaurant at the Shelter Island Country Club is open for lunch and dinner from mid-April to mid-October. The clubhouse and course are available for formal or informal family celebrations and business meetings as well as for other group or organization outings.
