Guild Hall is an arts, entertainment, and education center for the community. Its primary focus is to inform, inspire, and enrich our diverse audiences by presenting programs of the highest quality in the visual and performing arts, to collaborate with artists of Eastern Long Island, to foster the artistic spirit and to provide a meeting place for all.

The Shelter Island Heights Property Owners Corporation provides services to businesses and homeowners in the Heights Historic District, an area that was originally developed as a Methodist campground in the mid-1800s.
American Legion Mitchell Post 281 is the local chapter of the national organization that provide service to active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces and veterans, their families and the community. It meets the third Monday of the month, 7:30PM at Legion Hall.

Shelter Island residents and guests who are members of the Society of Friends hold their Friends Meeting on Sundays at 10:30 AM. All are welcome to attend. May through October, they gather outdoors at Sylvester Manor, 80 North Ferry Road (use entrance marked Quaker Meeting). Winter worship is held at the Shelter Island History Center. 16 South Ferry Road.

The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support the Shelter Island Public Library.
