In a nutshell, we plant trees. Since its inception in 1996, Shelter Island Friends of Trees has planted about 100 trees in public spaces on Shelter Island. And, we’ve designated over 75 significant trees as Landmark Trees. A non-profit, non-partisan organization, we also promote awareness and knowledge of local trees. We works with the Shelter Island Highway Department, the school, Sylvester Manor and the Historical Society, as well as local nurseries and arborists. And, we host an exhibition at the Town’s annual Green Options Expo. Membership is $25 per year. Join today!
