The Shelter Island Town Police Benevolent Association organizes and supports many local youth programs, charities, and worthy causes, thanks to generous donors. Among the efforts are:
- the Special Olympics
- Animal Rescue Fund pet chipping and adoption of animals
- Police Bike Safety Day
- Lions Club Snapper Derby
- Christmas caroling
- Educational scholarships and awards
- Holiday shopping for local families in need
- Holiday dinner and gifts with a local group home
A fund drive typically takes place by mail, but donations at any time of the year are welcome.
