Shelter Island Action Alliance was created in response to the COVID-19 shutdown as a way to keep our local restaurants afloat while supplying free meals to medical staff on the frontlines of the pandemic, delivered by volunteers.

The Shelter Island Ambulance Foundation raises funds to support to the volunteer squad that responds to medical emergencies. About 30 residents give freely of their time to aid those in need. They respond 7 days a week, 24 hours, and 365 days a year. Thanks to generous donors, we're able to provide support beyond what's covered in the Town budget. Please donate today!
The Shelter Island Chamber of Commerce is a long standing not-for-profit entity serving the local business community of Shelter Island, New York. Many of our activities and events are designed to attract tourism and visitors to Shelter Island for the benefit of the business community.
The Shelter Island Educational Foundation pursues, creates and provides excellent educational opportunities that enhance, inspire and broaden the horizons of our children and the community.

Shelter Island Fall 5k that takes place on the 3rd Saturday of October. It was created to help raise funds to benefit woman's cancer and breast health awareness.
Shelter Island Fire Department annual Chicken BBQ
The Shelter Island Fire Department is a volunteer organization that provides emergency fire response to residents of the Town of Shelter Island and Village of Dering Harbor.
Shelter Island Fireworks is a nonprofit entity that raises funds for and coordinates an annual fireworks display at Crescent Beach in honor of Independence Day. The family-friendly event, a tradition of 60+ years on Shelter Island, is usually held the weekend after July 4th.
The Shelter Island Food Pantry — located in the rear foyer of Fellowship Hall at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church — is open weekdays 10AM to 3PM and offers free food and other essentials to those in need. Simply help yourself. Donations welcome!
Our mission is to present world-renowned artists and rising stars of concert music to East End music lovers. We present five free concerts annually and invite you to join us for another extraordinary season.
Friend of the trees
In a nutshell, we plant trees. Since our inception in 1996, Friends of Trees has planted about 100 trees in public spaces in Shelter Island and designated over 75 Landmark Trees. Membership is just $25 per year. Join us!
